Plant description | Woody shrub to ~1.5 m. Stems are brown, branches are opening, new leaf shoot stems are green and hairy. Adaxial leaf surface is green with hair all over the surface, abaxial leaf surface is slight green with hair on veins, leaf smells like medicine. Flowers are axillary and terminal with white corolla and chocolate stamens. |
Locality and habit remarks | The collection is in the middle of evergreen tropical lowland forest, Magolalena Valley Forest on Karst, on the left of river. It is in semi-open dappled shade, understory place with litter, flat forest floor. Canopy to more than 20 m; surrounded by Cyclanthaceae, Araceae and common families. Walk from south side of Rio Claro Ecohotel along the river to the middle of the tropical lowland forest. |
