Biological attributes

Phenology Floración
Plant description Herb of 1 m. Discolorous leaves, dark green adaxially and light green abaxially. Inflorescence bracts dark purple with green veins that cross from the base to the apice. Bilabiate flower, with upper green lip and inferior lip white with two central purple marks with radial white veins, filaments green lemon-like, anthers yellow-green.
Locality and habit remarks Tropical, lowland, evergreen, mid-Magdalena type rainforest on karst. Plant was collected inside a forest clear beside the path through the forest, near to plants of the families Leguminosae, Piperaceae and other Acanthaceae. This species is not frequent. Lowland forest in the central montain range, riparian forest at the North-west face of the Rio Claro stream.
