Plant description	Liana, 15 m. Corky bark with longitudinal fisures. Discolorous leaves slightly aromatic, sigmoid petioles. Axilary & ramiflorous flowers, 25 x 22 cm expanded corolla, mouth of corolla tube 1 to 5 cm diameter. Inflated corolla tube, 10 x 3.5 cm at it's widest. Corolla purple with reticulated white veins to solid purple close to mouth. Pale purple veins and hairs in the narrow gap of the tube, then the inflated part of the tube white. Androecium at the base of corolla 1 x 1 cm, white. Dry ramiflorous fruits, light to dark brown, valves opening in 6 parts (3 pairs).
Locality and habit remarks	Tropical, lowland, evergreen, mid-Magdalena type rainforest on limestone. Climber on Annona tree at the edge of a pasture. Approximately 3 km south of Rio Claro Natural Reserve canyon.
