Plant description	Terrestrial small understory palm, procumbent, to 2:5 m high. No aerial roots, one stem per base. Stem pale brown-grey, 6.5 cm in diameter at base, many leaf scars close together. Open leaf sheath, up to 14 leaver per plant. Petiole to 31 cm. Leaf lamina to 100 x 64 cm, up to 64 leaflets per leaf, each to 40 cm long. Inflorescence infrafoliar, rachis brown with red buds and white flowers. Fruit green whe immature, black wher mature, 0.5 cm diameter, rachis red whe mature. Rachis branched to 10 primary branches and to 46 secondary branches
